AWARD WINNING SHOP WINDOW
La Fleur Bridal and Florists have been crowned the best shop window in Middleton. Over 30 independent retail businesses around Rochdale borough recently took part in a shop window dressing competition organised by Rochdale Borough Council as part of the Shop Local campaign. The competition was organised to help local retailers maximise sales and entice more shoppers through doors and compete against the large national retailers. The competition enabled shop keepers to receive free in-store training from specialist visual merchandisers, Phil Hill and Lynda Murray of International Visual Limited, and awarded grants of up to £50 to decorate store windows. Following training, each store was given two weeks to implement what they had learned and were judged against a range of criteria including window composition, clarity of theme and overall impact. Winning Middleton store, La Fleur are the longest established bridal studio in the Borough. Store owners Mr & Mrs Greenhalgh said: “We are so happy to have been awarded the winning store in Middleton and have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the competition. We would like to pass on our thanks to the Council for giving us the opportunity to get involved.” The winners will be taken on a retail safari around London to visit some of the greatest shop windows and independent retail businesses within the Capital to give further inspiration and ideas to the company.
